ROCK DOVES: A new play by Marie Jones

Over the course of the run over 2700 theatregoers saw what The New York Times called the production's "Buoyant, Colorful Acting" and an "engaging comedy".

Representatives from the governments of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain joined the cast and supporters for a closing night reception sponsored by the Northern Ireland Bureau.

"BUOYANT, COLORFUL ACTING enlivens this engaging comedy . . . All the actors contribute performances of gritty honest feeling . . . Maguire's marvelously pungent portrayal captures and holds the attention . . . with fresh comic allure and red-blooded feeling . . . He infuses his performance with touches of weary pathos and flashes of keen emotional truth"
-Charles Isherwood, The New York Times

"MOVING AND FUNNY . . . BEAUTIFULLY REALIZED"
- Joe Hurley, Irish Echo

"LOVELY AND HAUNTING"
-Newsday

"STERLING PERFORMANCES"
-NY Post

Featuring NATALIE BROWN, JOHNNY HOPKINS, MARTY MAGUIRE (A Night in November), and TIM RUDDY (Stones in His Pockets).

Fans of Ireland's most prominent female playwright, Olivier-Award winner Marie Jones (Stones in His Pockets and A Night in November) won't want to miss the world premiere of her new play, ROCK DOVES, directed by Tony nominee Ian McElhinney.

Set in Belfast -- a thriving city now that "The Troubles" are over -- ROCK DOVES brings to life four wild and colorful characters: a homeless man, an aging prostitute, a reluctant transvestite -- and a teenager who thinks he is still fighting the war. In Marie Jones' signature comedic style, ROCK DOVES is an affectionate exploration of the resilience and humanity of people who will do anything to survive.
