Get a head start on St. Patrick’s Day at the Irish Arts Center!
To celebrate Ireland's national holiday we throw open our doors and welcome everyone to explore and engage in a free day of Irish arts and culture. Spring forward and learn to play the tin whistle, play Gaelic Football with the Manhattan Gaels, speak Irish with our talented instructors, build an interactive map of Ireland, listen to storytelling in English and Irish with Diarmuid de Faoite, or enjoy some Irish hospitality with a cup of Barry's tea with friends old and new.
FEATURING:

* Gaelic for Kids with IAC language instructor Caoimhe Nic Giollarnáith
* An Introduction to Irish Dance with the Niall O'Leary School of Dance
* Tin Whistle Workshops for Kids & Adults too (Whistles can be purchased for $10 or bring your own!)
* Irish Language 101
* Interactive storytelling in English and Irish of “An Gobán Saor agus a Mhac/The Mason's Tale” for all ages with actor, writer, drama therapist and lecturer Diarmuid de Faoite (Best Actor Nomination, IFTA 2012). Presented by An Taibhdhearc, the national Irish language theatre from Galway, Ireland.

An enthralling mythological epic story about Ireland’s finest craftsman, The Gobán Saor, his clever wife and his not-so-clever son, and how they win the Great Pot of Plenty back for the Tuath Dé Danann, ending the famine!
